Alex's Webelos Art Explosion Adventure

Hi, this is Alex.  For my projects I decided to make a digital portfolio by posting my them on Mommy's blog.

I had to create a few self portraits.  The first two I made by copying half of my face.

The third self portrait I used glue and tinfoil.

I also played with clay and made the rainbow worm and the man.

All of the following are pictures I took and edited.  This was my favorite part.

                                                                  This was my favorite.

Thanks for checking out my photos.

El Paso Art Museum

Today, we decided we would go to the El Paso Art Museum, and work on one of Alex's Webelos requirements for his Art Explosion Adventure.

The requirement is: Visit an art museum, gallery, or exhibit.  Discuss with an adult the art you saw.  What did you like?

Some of the works of art he really liked were,

Burning Bush by Rachael Stevens

Moonrise (Quarter Moon On Tumbling Seas) by Frederick Judd Waugh

Smothering Surf by Frederick Judd Waugh

Guero (Oompa) by Vincent Burke

Cinco de Mayo by James Drake

Horus/Horace by Patrick Mehaffy

Even though he liked the works above, he absolutely fell in love with the work of Franz Marc.  So much that we ended up buying a book and when we got home, he looked through it, and immediately made his own version of one of the pictures.
